GRANTS MANAGEMENT AND COMPLIANCE COORDINATOR

CQDM is a biopharmaceutical research consortium whose mission is to fund the development
of innovative tools and technologies that accelerate the development of safe and effective

Reporting to the Director of Scientific Affairs, this role will oversee administrative and
compliance tasks for new research grant applications across various programs. Additionally, it
will serve as a key resource for Project Managers, supporting all contractual activities
associated with CQDM’s collaborative projects.

The individual in this role will actively participate, working closely with Project and Program
Managers, in the administrative, compliance, and contractual activities of CQDM’s Scientific
Affairs team. Specifically, they will:

  • Review all necessary documents to verify grant eligibility and ensure compliance with
    program requirements from initiation to completion.
  • Prepare decision letters for grant awards.
  • Act as a resource person for contractual activities: Review research and funding
    agreement and answer questions.
  • Ensure that negotiated research and funding agreements adhere to the policies and
    procedures of CQDM and funding partners, maintaining consistency with program
    objectives and CQDM’s mission.
  • Work closely with the CQDM’s business development team and Project Managers to
    facilitate effective knowledge transfer pertaining to projects.
  • Assist in developing and drafting research agreement templates and related documents
    for all new CQDM programs, in collaboration with external legal services.
  • Facilitate communication with CQDM’s external legal services.
  • Foster and maintain relationships with research entities to facilitate seamless
    operations and adherence to deadlines.
  • Participate in project launch meetings and as needed, in project monitoring
    committees.
  • Work closely with the team of Project and Program Managers to communicate
    procedural updates effectively and offer solutions to any potential issues that may
    arise during the processing of grant applications.
  • Participate as necessary in Scientific Affairs group initiatives to offer support to other
    teams, programs, departments, or strategic administrative endeavors.
  • Perform data entry and ensure the accuracy of the data entered in our database;
  • Any other related tasks.
  • M. Sc. or Ph. D. in an appropriate discipline
  • Five (5) years or more of experience in contract management or in an administrative
    position or any other relevant experience
  • Excellent knowledge of university and industrial research networks in Quebec
  • Knowledge and/or experience of the academic and industrial research environment
    in medical sciences and the drug discovery and development process
  • Knowledge of intellectual property management (an asset)
  • Bilingualism, with excellent command of written English and French
  • Excellent sense of organization, rigor, and attention to detail
  • Good judgment and autonomy
  • Strong problem and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong ability in communicating with internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrate motivation and willingness to achieve objectives despite possible
    challenges
  • Ability to work under pressure while meeting deadlines
  • Excellent ability to work in a team
  • Mastery of the Microsoft Office suite and experience with Sharepoint (an asset)
