A look back at Connect‑Bio at Polytechnique Montréal
On April 7, more than 180 participants gathered at Polytechnique Montréal at the initiative of PROTEO and the CQDM for the Connect‑Bio event, united by a shared goal: advancing biofabrication in Québec through collaboration across the ecosystem.
The event highlighted the critical role of protein biofabrication in the development of biotechnology, bringing together expertise from the academic, industrial, and institutional sectors.
Protein biofabrication: current challenges and future outlook
At the heart of the program were in‑depth discussions on the current and emerging challenges of protein biofabrication, a strategic field for innovation in biotechnology and life sciences. Key topics included:
- scientific and technological challenges related to the industrialization of biofabrication;
- the conditions required to accelerate the transition from research to industrial application;
- the importance of building a strong, well‑connected ecosystem to support innovation.
Meaningful exchanges across the ecosystem
The panel brought together recognized leaders in the field, whose complementary expertise fostered insightful discussions on the future of biofabrication in Québec.
A sincere thank you to our panelists: Brigitte St‑Denis, Christina Aon, Nathalie Charland, Mohamad Ahmad, Lakshmi Krishnan, and Djordje Grbic, as well as to all speakers, for the quality, generosity, and depth of their contributions.
These exchanges helped participants better understand current industry dynamics, identify opportunities for collaboration, and explore new ways to strengthen the biotechnology innovation value chain.
Connecting the ecosystem
The evening concluded with a networking cocktail, extending the conversations in a welcoming and dynamic setting. This moment turned impactful discussions into meaningful connections, further strengthening ties between organizations and talent shaping Québec’s biofabrication ecosystem.
Special thanks to Polytechnique Montréal for hosting the event, and to ROBIC, the event sponsor, for its valuable support.
Thank you as well to all participants for their presence and engagement.
See you this fall for the next edition of Connect‑Bio!
