POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Senior Director of Scientific Affairs, you will manage and develop the CQDM project management team. You will be responsible for implementing funding programs, closely monitoring projects in the portfolio, and ensuring that associated objectives are met. In fulfilling your responsibilities, you foster a collaborative and motivating work environment, support the team in carrying out its mandates, and help strengthen the autonomy and expertise of team members.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages CQDM’s funding programs
- Supervises CQDM’s program and project management team and oversees the recruitment and onboarding of new team members.
- Is responsible for the performance of the program/project management team and supports efforts to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of existing processes.
- Responsible for the operationalization of CQDM programs.
- In collaboration with the business development team and the Senior Director of Scientific Affairs, acts as a resource person for the development and establishment of co-funding partnerships.
- Has a thorough understanding of the parameters and terms of CQDM’s various programs.
- Ensures that documentation prepared for the SAB and the Board of Directors regarding projects in the portfolio is produced in accordance with CQDM’s standards and values.
- Leads reporting activities to funders.
- Ensures high-level document management of materials related to the various programs.
- In collaboration with the scientific affairs team, contributes to highlighting the progress and impacts of projects in the portfolio and participates in communications activities.
- Leads special projects and strategic initiatives related to scientific affairs, in close collaboration with the Senior Director of Scientific Affairs, to support organizational objectives.
- And other related tasks.
DESIRED PROFILE
Education
- A graduate degree (master’s or doctorate) in a relevant field such as life sciences, biotechnology, pharmacology, biochemistry, or any other related field.
- Additional training in project management, program evaluation, or team management (a plus).
Experience
- At least 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in the life sciences, collaborative research, or innovation sectors.
- Proven experience in managing scientific or technological programs or project portfolios.
- Experience in team management and supervising professionals, fostering autonomy, accountability, and collaboration among team members.
- Experience managing research partnerships involving multiple organizations (industry, academia, public sector).
- Strong understanding of the life sciences innovation ecosystem and collaborative research funding mechanisms.
- Experience managing programs funded by public or quasi-public funds (an asset).
