CQDM is a not-for-profit biopharmaceutical research consortium whose mission is to support and facilitate multi-stakeholder collaborative R&D aimed at accelerating the translation of innovative discoveries into vaccines, therapeutics, and diagnostic solutions that address unmet medical needs. We bring together world-leading pharmaceutical organizations, several Canadian biotech companies, top researchers from the public and private sectors, as well as the governments of Quebec and Canada. POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Senior Director, Partnerships and Innovation Policy, the Innovation Advisor will play a key role in the structuring and evaluation of collaborative R&D projects in the life sciences. You will act as a central interface between companies, researchers, and CQDM funding programs, ensuring the quality and relevance of the projects supported.
You will contribute to identifying funding opportunities, supporting partners in project development, and coordinating evaluation processes. Leveraging your understanding of scientific, industry, and funding environments, you will help maximize project impact and strengthen CQDM’s positioning within the ecosystem.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Development
- Support the development of a pipeline of opportunities in biopharmaceutical innovation by building relationships with key stakeholders.
- Act as a liaison between partners to facilitate the development of high-impact collaborative projects.
- Contribute to the preparation and quality of funding applications.
- Represent CQDM at events and support initiatives that strengthen ecosystem engagement and visibility.
Project Evaluation and Program Management - Coordinate project evaluation processes with scientific committees, external reviewers, and decision-making bodies.
- Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations on submitted projects.
- Prepare briefing materials and presentations to support decision-making.
- Support the management of complex projects in collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders.
REQUIREMENTS
- Graduate degree (Master’s or PhD) in life sciences, biotechnology, or a related field.
- MBA or equivalent is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of the biopharmaceutical sector, including the drug development lifecycle and industry challenges.
- Good knowledge of the Québec and Canadian biopharmaceutical ecosystem, including academic and industry research environments.
- Established network and proven experience in building and maintaining relationships with diverse partners.
- Excellent communication skills in both French and English, written and spoken.
