Bio
Simon Fournier joined CQDM in October 2022. Before joining, Simon held an assistant clinical researcher role in a laboratory at the Research Institute of McGill University Health Centre (IR-CUSM) which focuses on rare neurological diseases that affect the paediatric population. He was also the coordinator of clinical trials undertaken in partnership with pharmaceutical/biotechnology companies. Previously, he worked at the Center for Advanced Research in Sleep Medicine (CÉAMS) at Sacré-Coeur Hospital in Montreal, where he was involved in research projects with a focus on genetic sleep disorders.
Simon holds a baccalaureate (2017) and a Master’s (2020) in neuroscience awarded by the faculty of medicine at Université de Montréal. His research work was focused on the study of genetic factors in the pathophysiology of somnambulism (sleep walking). In 2022, Simon completed a Master’s in business administration (MBA) at UQAM School of Management.
Simon is an avid supporter of the Montreal Canadiens, and hockey is an integral part of his life. Outside of the skating rink, he enjoys the great outdoors and goes wild camping as soon as summer arrives. Simon is also an amateur old school rap musician; he can give you advice about concerts and new tracks that you can’t miss.
