Bio

Catherine-Alexandra Grégoire joined the CQDM team in October 2023 as Project Manager of Scientific Affairs. In September 2025, her skills and commitment led her to take on the role of Project Portfolio Manager.
Before joining our team, she was an associate researcher at the ÉPIC Center of the Montreal Heart Institute. Her field of research was focused on the impact of a healthy and active lifestyle on preventive cognitive decline associated with ageing and cardiovascular diseases.

Catherine-Alexandra obtained her doctorate in pathology and cellular biology, specializing in the central nervous system, from the faculty of Medicine at Université de Montréal in 2016. Her research focused on underlying mechanisms in the activation of neural stem cells in the central nervous system of adults. At the same time, she completed a diploma in management at McGill University. Then, Catherine-Alexandra undertook a postdoctoral internship in biomedical sciences at the Montreal Heart Institute’s research centre from 2016 to 2019 under the supervision of Dr Louis Bherer. Her project focused on an assessment of the impact of different types of physical activity on neurotrophic factors. In September 2023, she completed a certified program for the integration of clinical research professionals at the Montreal CRA school.

Catherine is an adventurer at heart, passionately navigating choppy waves on a dragon boat. Her love for this intense team sport motivates her to work together with her fellow dragon boaters towards a common objective, mutually supporting one another with every oar stroke. In winter, she trades the turbulent water for snowy mountains, hurtling down ski slopes with ease and elegance. But outside of sports activities, Catherine is an insatiable reader, immersing herself in the pages of three or four books per week, and sometimes more. She would be happy to offer advice if you are looking for inspiration for your next read.
