Bio

Véronique Dugas has been President and CEO of CQDM since April 1, 2025. A member of the organization since 2018, she has held several strategic positions and played a key role in many of its major achievements. Before her arrival at CQDM, she worked in the field of research funding and collaboration between public and industrial partners at Mitacs.

Véronique holds a doctorate in microbiology and immunology, awarded by the faculty of Medicine at Université de Montréal. Over the course of her scientific career, she has specialized in the study of immune tolerance mechanisms, as well as genetic factors that predispose individuals to developing auto-immune diseases, particularly type 1 diabetes. She later completed an MBA at UQAM’s School of Business, followed by a short graduate diploma on the evaluation of programs, projects and services, also awarded by UQAM. Most recently, Véronique was chosen to take part in the first cohort off the Excellence in Canadian Board Governance program, offered by McGill University and Women in Bio.

Since her arrival, Véronique has played an essential role in implementing strategically important initiatives for CQDM, including the management contract of the Health Collaboration Acceleration Fund (HCAF), the business transformation implemented by the organisation, and, most recently, the mobilization of the life sciences ecosystem for advancements in the field of RNA-based therapies in Quebec.

Véronique, who is passionate about gastronomy and a real foodie, loves discovering new flavours and the best restaurants in town. She’s always keen to share a feeling of camaraderie with her colleagues. She loves the French language, and has brought her language skills to CQDM.
