Bio

Marina Luginina joined CQDM in May 2023 as Project Manager of Scientific Affairs. Before joining our team, Marina worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Biological and Biomedical Engineering at McGill University. Her field of research focused on the development of a new encapsulation strategy for cell transplantation in patients with type 1 diabetes. Marina was president of the Association of Postdoctoral Fellows at McGill.

Marina holds a doctorate in Innovation Science and Technologies from the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering at Cagliari University in Italy. Her doctoral thesis focused on the development of advanced equipment for engineering hard and soft tissue. She has also completed several international research internships in academic institutes in France and Germany.

Marina is committed to promoting diversity and equality in life sciences. As executive secretary on the Board of Directors for Women in Bio, she actively works to promote careers, leadership and entrepreneurship for women in the field.
