CQDM is a not-for-profit biopharmaceutical research consortium whose mission is to support and facilitate multi-stakeholder collaborative R&D aimed at accelerating the translation of innovative discoveries into vaccines, therapeutics, and diagnostic solutions that address unmet medical needs. We bring together world-leading pharmaceutical organizations, several Canadian biotech companies, top researchers from the public and private sectors, as well as the governments of Quebec and Canada. POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for a strong writer who can create accurate, authentic, and credible content, with a strong sense of storytelling and editorial rhythm. You know how to think in terms of campaigns rather than isolated pieces of content, and you are interested in understanding scientific topics in order to communicate them clearly and effectively.
Autonomous and rigorous, you will manage communications projects from start to finish and contribute actively to the visibility of an organization at the heart of life sciences innovation.
The Communications Specialist will play a key role in strengthening CQDM’s visibility by developing and implementing communication strategies that showcase our mission, achievements, and impact.
You understand the power of communications to engage stakeholders, influence perceptions, and strengthen an organization’s visibility. You are able to transform complex topics into clear, relevant, and engaging messages for different audiences.
Both strategic and hands-on, you can identify communication opportunities, develop communication plans, define impactful messages, and produce high-quality content for CQDM’s various channels. With excellent writing skills and a strong sense of storytelling, you enjoy highlighting innovation, partnerships, and the impact of CQDM’s work.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement communication strategies and plans aligned with the organization’s priorities and objectives.
- Act as a communications advisor to internal teams in order to maximize the impact and consistency of messages.
- Create, write, and distribute communications content for the organization’s various platforms, including the website, newsletters, LinkedIn, reports, press releases, presentations, and other materials.
- Develop stories and success narratives that highlight CQDM’s projects, partners, and impact.
- Translate scientific, technical, and institutional content into accessible and engaging communications for different audiences.
- Ensure consistency in the organization’s editorial approach and messaging across all communication channels.
- Plan and coordinate communications related to corporate and industry events.
- Measure the reach and effectiveness of communication initiatives and recommend continuous improvements.
- Collaborate with internal teams and partners to increase the organization’s visibility and reach.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in communications.
- Excellent writing skills in French, with experience creating content for different communication channels, including LinkedIn, websites, newsletters, and corporate publications.
- Experience developing and implementing communication plans and initiatives.
- Very good command of English, both written and spoken.
- Experience in the life sciences sector and knowledge of its ecosystem is considered an asset.

- Proficiency with digital tools, including WordPress, Mailchimp or equivalent platforms, Canva, and the Microsoft Office suite.
