Connect-Pharma: Pitch Day – Call for Ideas: Targeted Delivery of Drugs

We are searching for world-class research to develop novel and efficient approaches for targeted delivery of small molecules, biologics, vaccines, or nucleic acids to present to domain experts from leading global pharmaceutical organizations on October 19, 2023.

Projects that gain pharma interest eligible to obtain funding via CQDM’s Quantum Leap program.

We invite passionate Canadian researchers and visionary teams to submit innovative ideas that have the potential to transform the landscape of medicine and improve patient outcomes.

Research Focus Areas: We are particularly interested in technologies that explore, but are not limited to, the following research areas (any medical indication):

  • Tissue/cell specific delivery platforms
  • Non-viral delivery systems
  • Nanotechnology-based delivery systems
  • Biomaterials for targeted drug/nucleic acid delivery
  • Ligand-targeted therapies for specific diseases
  • Advanced gene editing technologies for precision medicine
  • RNA-based therapeutics and delivery strategies

We are seeking ideas that demonstrate creativity, scientific rigor, and a strong potential for real-world applications.

Process: All submitted projects will be shared with CQDM’s pharmaceutical members for review and ranking. Top ranked projects will be selected to present to CQDM’s global pharmaceutical members at a Connect-Pharma: Pitch Day on October 19, 2023.

Who can apply: Canadian academic institutions, biotech companies, and research organizations are eligible to apply. Collaborative projects that involve partnerships between academia and industry are also encouraged. We welcome multidisciplinary teams that can bring diverse expertise to the table.

Deadline and Submission: Submission deadline is September 20, 2023, please submit to appliquez-apply@cqdm.org. Detailed guidelines and instructions for proposal submission and the selection form are available here, through this application form.

Sweet Biopharma Day‘s 3rd Edition | Québec, Canada
Call for startup proposals, now open

We are pleased to announce that the 3rd edition of Sweet Biopharma Day will be held, in person, on April 12, 2023. This unique, by invitation-only event invites young Canadian biotechs to submit an application for a chance to present in front of key global biopharma companies, as well as leading Canadian life sciences ecosystem’s stakeholders (such as venture capitalists and representatives from governments and associations). The intent is to develop potential collaborations or partnerships.

Are you a biotechnology start-up or company with fewer than 25 employees and focused on innovative research and development? Do you have a strong commercial potential? You can apply for the chance to be among the 16 promising Canadian biotech companies, the “Sweet 16”, who will be invited to present in front of key biopharmaceutical industry stakeholders on April 12th.

How to apply: Companies must provide a 2-page executive summary and a short presentation (one set of no more than 5 slides) describing their cutting-edge technology, target indications, and points of differentiation. Application packages must be submitted via this form no later than Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. EDT.
