Once again this year, the goal of the joint program is to strengthen biomedical research in Quebec, Alsace and Rh\u00f4ne-Alpes by aligning scientific resources and expertise. More specifically, it is meant to co-finance the development of novel and potentially transformative next-generation technologies with an immediate and strong impact on biopharmaceutical R&amp; D.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Researchers, from the academic and private sectors, interested in this program are invited to submit their research project applications before&nbsp;<strong>April 7<sup>th<\/sup>,&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>2015<\/strong>. Program details are available on CQDM\u2019s website at:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/cqdm.orgen\/programs-and-competitions\/quebec-france-joint-program.php\">https:\/\/cqdm.orgen\/programs-and-competitions\/quebec-france-joint-program.php<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Networking event<br><\/strong>To create relationships between researchers of Alsace, the Rh\u00f4ne-Alpes region and Quebec and to facilitate the preparation of joint projects, CQDM, Alsace BioValley and Lyonbiop\u00f4le will organize an information and networking session&nbsp;<strong>January 29<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;and<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;30<sup>th<\/sup>, 2015&nbsp;<\/strong>in Strasbourg, France. Quebec researchers are invited to meet members of the French delegation composed of several researchers indifferent spheres of activity. In order to optimize interactions during the event, researchers interested in participating in the session must contact CQDM before January 16<sup>th<\/sup>, 2015, to express their interest and specify the expertise sought in future collaborations. Their initial achievements led to Lyonbiop\u00f4le joining in 2012. This strategic partnership continues to increase the competitiveness of biopharmaceutical research in Quebec, Alsace and the Rh\u00f4ne-Alpes region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since 2010, the Quebec\/France tripartite program has funded four outstanding research projects:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/cqdm.orgen\/projects-portfolio\/project\/35\">Patrick Vermette (Universit\u00e9 de Sherbrooke) \/ S\u00e9verine Sigrist<\/a>\u00a0(CeeD) &#8211; Development of a new matrix for pancreatic islets culture and its validation in a bioartificial pancreas (BioArtMatrix);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/cqdm.orgen\/projects-portfolio\/project\/26\">S\u00e9bastien Blais-Ouellette (Photon etc.) \/ Serge Bischoff<\/a>\u00a0(Rhenovia Pharma) &#8211; Optical imaging and biosimulation platforms to accelerate CNS drug discovery;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/cqdm.orgen\/projects-portfolio\/project\/27\">Daniel Chelsky (Caprion Proteomics Inc.) \/ St\u00e9phane Gasman<\/a>\u00a0(CNRS) &#8211; Identification of new biomarkers for neuroendocrine cancers;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/cqdm.orgen\/projects-portfolio\/project\/25\">Michel Bouvier (Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al) \/ Brigitte Kieffer<\/a>\u00a0(CERBM) &#8211; Monitoring the signaling pathways of GPCRs in living animals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>About CQDM<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>CQDM is a pharma-based consortium active in pre-competitive research whose mission is to fund the development of innovative tools and technologies to accelerate drug discovery.
