{"id":1881,"date":"2020-04-27T12:14:02","date_gmt":"2020-04-27T16:14:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cqdm.org\/en\/news-and-events\/pre-launch-of-a-new-call-for-proposals-in-june-2020-discover-the-latest-updates\/"},"modified":"2024-09-25T16:27:26","modified_gmt":"2024-09-25T20:27:26","slug":"pre-launch-of-a-new-call-for-proposals-in-june-2020-discover-the-latest-updates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cqdm.org\/en\/news-and-events\/pre-launch-of-a-new-call-for-proposals-in-june-2020-discover-the-latest-updates\/","title":{"rendered":"Pre-launch of a new call for proposals in June 2020: discover the latest updates!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>Fonds d\u2019acc\u00e9l\u00e9ration des collaborations en sant\u00e9<\/em>&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>(Health Collaboration Acceleration Fund)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>May 27th 2020 &#8211; <\/strong>To stimulate economic recovery in the life sciences sector, the Government of Quebec is making changes to the <strong>Fonds d\u2019acc\u00e9l\u00e9ration des collaborations en sant\u00e9 (FACS)<\/strong> and inviting actors of the ecosystem to collaborate by launching ambitious projects that meet the practical needs of Quebec\u2019s small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><u>New objectives<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This second call for proposals aims to support <strong>structuring initiatives that foster economic recovery<\/strong>. For example, they should:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Increase the maturity and competitiveness of innovative SMEs in the life sciences sector at the national and international levels;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strengthen the sector&#8217;s innovation chain by accelerating and improving the efficiency of processes enabling the development and maturation of innovations from Quebec companies;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Expand or strengthen a high-potential niche market;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Attract private and foreign investments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><u>Nature of initiatives<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The projects must:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>be supported by at least four Quebec partners from the public, private and non-profit sectors;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>be <strong>geared towards the needs of Quebec SMEs<\/strong>, which will be required to take an active part in the project;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>demonstrate the complementarity <\/strong>of the proposed activities with those already carried out by organizations active in the ecosystem.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Emphasis will be placed on the <strong>structuring and collaborative nature <\/strong>of the initiatives in order to foster the<strong> growth of Quebec&#8217;s life sciences industry<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>R&amp;D activities are not mandatory for the projects submitted<\/strong>. However, should they include such activities, the results must generate impacts that go well beyond the advancement of knowledge.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><u>Available funding<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Allocated funds range from $5 million to $10 million per project. Projects must be completed within three years or less.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Government&#8217;s contribution may represent up to 50% of eligible expenses.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Matching funds equal to 50% or more of eligible expenses must be provided by industrial partners.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><u>Key dates to remember<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><tbody><tr><td>Launch of call for proposals<\/td><td>June 2020<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Submission of the short application<\/td><td>August&nbsp;19,&nbsp;2020<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Submission of the full application<\/td><td>November 18, 2020<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Start of projects<\/td><td>No later than July 1<sup>st<\/sup>, 2021<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Government will rely on CQDM&#8217;s expertise in the implementation of the FACS.
