BOSTON, June 6, 2018 <\/strong>\u2013 CQDM is pleased to announce that Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited and Roche have joined the CQDM as new members. Members leverage the consortium\u2019s strength to identify and finance innovative biopharmaceutical research projects from across Canada, with the ultimate goal of enabling the development of better treatments for patients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab Je salue la venue de ces deux nouveaux membres au sein du CQDM. Les entreprises Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited et Roche contribueront \u00e0 la r\u00e9ussite du consortium, gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 leur savoir-faire et \u00e0 leur engagement dans la d\u00e9couverte de m\u00e9dicaments avant-gardistes. Elles contribueront ainsi \u00e0 la force du r\u00e9seau unique que repr\u00e9sente le CQDM \u00bb, a mentionn\u00e9 la vice-premi\u00e8re ministre, ministre de l\u2019\u00c9conomie, de la Science et de l\u2019Innovation et ministre responsable de la Strat\u00e9gie num\u00e9rique, madame Dominique Anglade.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab L\u2019union fait la force, nous affirme le dicton, et c\u2019est pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment ce que nous d\u00e9montrera \u00e0 terme la venue de ces deux nouveaux membres au sein du CQDM, dont l\u2019expertise et le savoir-faire constitueront un atout ind\u00e9niable pour le consortium. Je me r\u00e9jouis que les perc\u00e9es m\u00e9dicales et cliniques qui en r\u00e9sulteront b\u00e9n\u00e9ficieront \u00e0 terme \u00e0 l\u2019ensemble de la population qu\u00e9b\u00e9coise, notamment gr\u00e2ce au d\u00e9veloppement de traitements de plus en plus efficaces et de moins en moins invasifs pour les patients \u00bb, a pour sa part fait savoir le ministre de la Sant\u00e9 et des Services sociaux, monsieur Ga\u00e9tan Barrette.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since its foundation in 2008, CQDM has successfully pursued the mission to fund the development of innovative tools and technologies that accelerate drug discovery and development. CQDM, with the collaboration of its pharma members, has so far funded 64 innovative research projects in 76 research institutions (both public and private), for a total disbursement of $44M in early stage R&D, $30M in co-funding and $41M of follow-on investments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
