Call of ideas : Driving innovation in personalized medicine through translational research and collaboration

Whether you have developed an idea, have an invention to protect, whether you are planning a technological maturation or business creation project, this opportunity is for you!

CQDM and Axelys are delighted to announce a unique opportunity for all Quebec researchers and companies to contribute to the rapidly evolving field of personalized medicine. In this context, CQDM and Axelys are opening a call for ideas that explore technological approaches or solutions in personalized medicine, developed within your organizations.

The complexity and variability of human biology make personalized medicine an essential approach to health. In particular, it provides targeted, effective and patient-centered prevention, diagnosis and treatment tools. By leveraging technologies such as genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, digital health technologies, personalized medicine offers the potential for increased prediction and prevention, as well as precise and more effective therapeutic strategies.

In order to realize the potential of these scientific innovations, it is crucial to foster strong interdisciplinary partnerships to understand and respond to market requirements, access cutting-edge expertise to bridge the “valley of death” between research and clinical application.

For this reason, we invite all members of the ecosystem involved in this theme, including researchers from Quebec universities and established companies of all sizes, to submit ideas that:

  • Improve or apply technology developed within an academic institution or in an industrial environment.
  • Explore innovative approaches to improve prevention, diagnosis, treatment and personalized patient care by improving the overall patient experience, while ensuring that complexity and associated costs are reduced.
  • Continue the development of cutting-edge technologies, with a critical eye on their harmonious integration into the existing health ecosystem, with a view to commercialization that respects the principles of sustainability, accessibility, and continuous improvement of care.
  • Whether or not they include collaboration between industry and academic centres.

We encourage proposals that demonstrate a real understanding of the current and future challenges of the health system, with an emphasis on inclusive and responsible innovation that benefits all users of the health system, without increasing its complexity.

The deadline for submitting ideas is March 15, 2024 at the latest.

The ideas submitted will be evaluated by the Axelys and CQDM teams who will ensure feedback to the depositors in a concerted manner. Depending on the nature of the ideas submitted, the most relevant support, accompaniement and financing opportunities for the development of the technologies will be offered. With the agreement of the depositors, the ideas can also be discussed with other partner organizations in order to respond most appropriately to the stated needs.

This initiative led by CQDM and Axelys concretizes our joint effort to bring out promising technologies in personalized medicine in order to integrate them into clinical practice. Through the efforts and active participation of all, we have the potential to revolutionize healthcare delivery by enabling the development of targeted treatments that minimize adverse effects, improve clinical outcomes and enhance patient well-being.

Join us in shaping the future of care by sending us your innovative proposals, which will undoubtedly lead to improved prevention, diagnosis, therapy and monitoring of diseases, particularly chronic, complex and rare diseases.

Below you will find the template and instructions for submitting your application. These must be sent no later than March 15, 2024 to the following email address: Apply-apply@cqdm.orgClick here for the template.
