The CQDM is a non-profit biopharmaceutical research consortium with a mission to support and
facilitate collaborative multi-party R&D aimed at accelerating the transformation of cutting-edge
discoveries into vaccines, therapeutic products, and diagnostics that address unmet medical
needs, while generating significant benefits for the Canadian economy. We bring together global
pharmaceutical organizations, several Canadian biotechnology companies, top researchers from
both the public and private sectors, as well as the governments of Quebec and Canada. Our
collaborative approach fills the funding gaps needed to stimulate innovation, particularly in the
early stages of research.

Under the guidance of the Vice President – Scientific Affairs, the individual in this role will be
tasked with developing and executing large-scale projects that engage multiple stakeholders
and deliver lasting benefits to the biopharmaceutical ecosystems in Quebec and Canada. To
achieve the desired outcomes, they will leverage their strategic vision, extensive network
across the country, communication abilities, and leadership skills. The specific duties and
responsibilities will adapt as new opportunities arise within the CQDM.

  • Ensure the success of strategic initiatives undertaken by the CQDM, starting with the RNA
    mobilization project;
  • Establish the necessary governance structures and principles for the rigorous and
    transparent management of strategic initiatives;
  • Lead and support team members involved in the execution of strategic initiatives;
  • Mobilize various involved actors and other potential collaborators, including universities,
    biotechnology companies, pharmaceutical companies, government funders, foundations,
    and venture capital organizations;
  • Identify new opportunities for strategic initiatives aimed at addressing significant needs in
    the life sciences ecosystem of Quebec and/or Canada;
  • Serve as a resource person for the executive team and governance committees of the CQDM
    regarding the development of strategic initiatives by the organization;
  • Stay constantly informed about trends, practices, and future priorities in biopharmaceutical
    R&D;
  • Demonstrate flexibility and ensure the completion of any tasks required for the success of
    new initiatives implemented by the CQDM.
  • Ph.D. in biopharmaceutical sciences or a related health and life sciences field;
  • Expertise in the development of RNA-based therapeutic modalities, an asset;
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in strategic roles within the biopharmaceutical
    industry;
  • Experience in managing complex projects and coordinating multiple initiatives;
  • Demonstrated team management experience, an asset;
  • Excellent knowledge of the Quebec and Canadian biopharmaceutical ecosystems;
  • Strong leadership and demonstrated ability to guide and influence various stakeholders
    towards achieving common goals;
  • Strong ability to communicate in French and English, both orally and in writing.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams;
  • Exceptional initiative and autonomy;
  • Highly motivated and results-oriented;
  • Creative mindset with the ability to propose innovative solutions;
  • Superior organizational skills and adaptability;
